Julie Gibson Sally is the founder and principal of Clear, a Kansas City-based communications firm. With more than eleven years of legislative, public relations and strategic communications experience, Julie is an expert at ensuring that clients achieve their business objectives while delivering measurable results. Julie has a unique gift for developing communication strategies that deliver straightforward, clearly understood messages.
Through strategic and proactive communications, she helps clients manage politically charged issues, crises and influencer relations. Her issues management, crisis communications, media relations and community outreach counsel have helped numerous clients achieve aggressive business objectives in challenging environments. Julie has counseled clients in various industries, including Applebee’s International, Bayer Corporation, the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, Forest City Enterprises, the Metropolitan Kansas City Performing Arts Center, the Port Authority of Kansas City and the City of Kansas City, Mo. Julie has managed legislative campaigns in Missouri and Kansas, assisted a national veteran’s organization in gaining political exposure at the 2000 Republican National Convention and managed media relations for a recent Kansas City, Missouri Mayoral candidate. She has led the effort on a number of award-winning public affairs programs, to include ten PRISM awards from the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Julie began her career as a public policy coordinator for the Missouri Association of REALTORS®. From there, she strengthened her real estate and governmental experience as a lobbyist for the Metropolitan Kansas City Board of REALTORS®. Communications agency experience includes Fleishman-Hillard and Trozzolo Communications Group. A graduate of the University of Missouri, Julie earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with an emphasis in journalism. In 1999, she was named the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year. She is a 2004 graduate of Centurions, a two-year leadership program sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Missouri Preservation board of directors and a volunteer with The Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired, the Kansas City Free Health Clinic and the Salvation Army.
